I’ve been pondering Podshow+ interfering with our statistics. Could
you put in a redirect. Run whatever script you use to get the info of
whoever is subscribed to the Podshow+ feed, then redirect them to OUR
FEED for the actual content?
I can’t stand the idea of everyone who
is subscribed via Podshow+ not showing up on my Feedburner
statistics.
Is there also a way you could also apply this same idea
to your “channel” feeds?
Feedback would be appreciated,
-Luke
Interesting ideas here. Of course we’ve updated the XML buttons to link back to the original feed. Regarding the channel feeds, there’s a well-understood solution employed by a number of online aggregators: insert the number of subscribed users into our user agent string, like this:
“NewsGatorOnline/2.0 (http://www.newsgator.com; 61 subscribers)”
FeedBurner and others factor these numbers in their stats count. Consider it in our queue.
